By 1972, I migrated to a Cox PT-19 control line airplane. My PT-19 was beat to a pulp, and it was time for something else. This photo isn't the actual model, my photos of it are long gone, but this is the exact airplane I had. This would have been a better choice for a trainer, as it was very docile and easy to fly. I flew this off and on for about 7 years. I was not a member of a club, so the enthusiasm level had an ebb and flow to it. Somewhere along that time I discovered girls, gasoline, and ham radio.
